Aging Beauties all over will live a socially engaged life that reduces negative outcomes such as loneliness, isolation and depression.
Caring for Aging Beauties Volunteers
One in four older adults often experience loneliness. Isolation & loneliness can cause additional health problems. In result, our Senior community can feel disconnected from life and have a less desire to take care of themselves.
We're on a mission to change that and we need your help! Complete the form below to become a volunteer today! You will also find an explanation of the different roles we have for volunteers below the volunteer form.
Volunteer Roles
Adopt An Aging Beauty
Our volunteers are able to adopt an Aging Beauty. This allows our volunteers to create a meaningful and consistent connection with an Aging Beauty.
Pen Pal
Connect with an Aging Beauty by writing a letter to them. Write about your hobbies, life experiences, or ask for some life wisdom from someone who's experienced life.
Video Messaging
Connect via video chat or video messaging. You can make an Aging Beauty's day by simply checking in and sharing your day virtually.
Birthday Club
Let's celebrate our Aging Beauties in the community by recognizing their birthday. This can be as simple as sending a personalized card.
Projects
Volunteers will have a chance to assist with various projects and events that Caring for Aging Beauties plan throughout the year. This can range from hosting a Virtual Bingo Night, Bible Study, Crafting Sessions, and more.
Care Lab
Our Care Lab is a space where our volunteers will help caregivers and family members learn technical skills that allows them to better care for their loved ones. This enhances Aging Beauties' health and happiness by knowing their loved ones can care for them properly.
Senior Service Day
Senior Service Day was created to celebrate the lives, wisdom, and contributions of Aging Beauties. In 2017, S.C Governor Henry McMaster proclaimed September 12th as Senior Service Day for the entire state. Our volunteers help celebrate this day by creatively giving back to Aging Beauties throughout communities in South Carolina.
Making a Different in YOU Caregiver Gala
This is an event held annually in December. The Making a Difference In YOU Caregiver Gala was created by Kesha L. Hayes to show praise to caregivers that work so hard to care for their own loved ones and the loved ones of others. Each year, volunteers gather together to assist with various tasks that help make this event a success.
